Nazaré Big Wave

WELCOME TO THE ATLANTIC!

Praia Grande beach is nowadays considered as the worldest top spot for massive surfing waves…
A few years ago, Gareth Macnamara (one of the most famous big wave surfers), have discovered in Portugal, this fisherman small city called Nazaré (one hour driving from the capital, Lisboa), and its impressive Guinness World Record waves.
Since then, he’s left no more and made this place his own family home!

But surfing in Portugal is so much more…endless deserted windy beaches for kite or wind surfers, even schools for beginners and surf houses.

The Atlantic shoreline is so immensely rich in amazing waves and beaches for all kind of water sports and all over the coast, in addition to a vast tourist offer.
The World Surf League also tours in Portugal every single year.
Beaches like Alvor, Tonel, Carvalhal, Odeceixe, Arrifana, Guincho, Ericeira, Carcavelos, Praia Grande, Figueira da Foz, Supertubos, Molhe Leste, Vagueira, Miramar, Espinho, Leça, Aguçadoura, Afife, Esposende or Cabedelo are some of the best reasons to travel to until Portugal, the so called “Californian west coast of Europe”.
